Harry Blackstone

Brother of Mr.J.Blackstone 16 Dukinfield Street.Liverpool.

Private, 7th Bn Queen’s Own(Royal West Kents). 53rd Brigade 18th (Eastern) Division.

Died 24th April 1918 aged 22.

This may not be the correct H.Blackstone, but out of all those listed this tended towards being the most likely.

It is possible that he worked in London.  The 18th Division was made up of East Anglian regiments and was considered a crack unit.

His date of death indicated he was killed in the Battle of Villers Bretonneux.

He has no known grave and is listed on the Pozieres Memorial.

I am still researching Blackstone as a possible Boer War casualty, and he is included in both lists.
