Philip Keith Beall

Son of Louisa Beall of 70 Kimbolton Rd.Bedford.  Private, C.Coy.7th. Bn British Columbia Regiment.

Died 23rd November 1916 aged 26.

These are the only details I can trace on Beall, it is possible that he emigrated to Canada in the preceeding decade as did thousands of others.

The Canadian Army Corps was considered (alongside the ANZACs) to be the Empire’s crack troops, fighting in all the great battles.

Vimy Ridge where Beall died was finally taken by the Canadians as part of the Arras battle of Easter 1917.

Beall died as part of the attritional actions on the ridge.

He has no known grave and is recorded on the Vimy memorial along with 11,500 missing comrades.
